Ottotape Trio FBA besteht aus einem imprägnierten, vorkomprimierten PU-Schaum mit variabler sd-Wert-Technologie. Das Band passt sich Baubewegungen flexibel an und bietet eine hervorragende Kombination aus Luftdichtheit, Wärmedämmung und Schlagregenschutz. Die Temperaturbeständigkeit liegt typischerweise zwischen -30°C und +80°C. Durch die selbstexpandierende Struktur entfällt eine Trocknungszeit, und die Verarbeitung gelingt auch bei wechselnden Witterungsbedingungen.

Frequently asked questions
My joint is wider than 15 mm. Will Ottotape Trio FBA still work?
No. FBA covers joint widths of 6–15 mm. If the joint is wider, the tape is not compressed enough and does not seal reliably. In that case, switch to a wider tape such as Ottotape Trio BKA MF1 (64–84 mm, also for 10–20 mm).
How are joints and corners done with the FBA tape?
Stick the tape all the way round the outer edge of the frame without tension, butt the tape ends neatly together and do not stretch it at corners. Do not overlap the ends: overlaps create bulges that reduce the joint filling and encourage leaks.
How does the window frame need to be prepared for the FBA tape?
The frame must be dry and free of release agents, otherwise the impregnated foam sealing tape will not adhere reliably. The reveal must be sound, clean and free of dust and grease.
How do I check the tape after installation?
Visually inspect the entire joint to check that the tape is in contact without gaps and that there are no voids or over-compressed areas. If necessary, press it on again with the pressure roller.
Does installation foam replace the FBA tape, or vice versa?
Neither. The impregnated foam sealing tape forms the three functional zones (airtight on the inside, insulating in the centre, driving-rain-tight on the outside). The PU installation foam additionally fixes the frame at individual points, but does not replace the functional layers of the tape.
Does the outer joint still need to be sealed after fitting the FBA tape?
For a neat, visible finish at the plaster junction and at corners, the joint is additionally sealed on the outside with a neutral-curing, vapour-permeable silicone such as Ottoseal S730. Clean and dry the substrate, fill the joint evenly and tool it smooth.
